Arrival at the National Research Foundation (NRF) and the South African Astronomical Observatory (SAAO).

The 2-hour tour begins with a warm welcome and introduction at the Observatory’s Main Library, setting the stage for an engaging exploration of South Africa’s rich astronomical heritage and ongoing research. Guests are then guided through the historic Main Building, a landmark that has been at the heart of astronomical discovery in the country for over a century. Weather permitting, the experience continues with a visit to the Photoheliograph, offering delegates a closer look at one of the Observatory’s significant instruments and its role in solar research.
