Meet Artist Richard Scott at his studio
Travel to Melkbosstrand for a private visit to the working studio of renowned South African artist Richard Scott. Hosted personally by the artist, this intimate experience combines a guided studio visit with an inspiring and candid 45-minute talk and open Q&A. Richard shares the real journey behind building a full-time international art career since 2001 - exploring creativity, persistence, reinvention, success, failure, and the business realities of being a contemporary artist.
Internationally recognised, Scott has participated in 109 exhibitions worldwide, including 29 solo shows, with work shown across South Africa, Europe, the UK, and the United States. The session is energetic, practical, and deeply authentic, offering rare behind-the-scenes insight into both the creative and commercial worlds of art
After this insightful and exclusive experience, enjoy a scenic drive along the coastline which reveals picture postcard views of Table Mountain and Robben Island.

The morning ends with a visit to The Long March to Freedom, an extraordinary open-air exhibition of over 100 life-sized bronze statues honouring the individuals who shaped South Africa’s journey to democracy. S
Time permitting/Alternative: Art in Public Places, V&A Waterfront
Should time permit, our guide shall accompany you on an exploration of the V&A Waterfront’s celebration of local creativity through the Art in Public Places initiative. The art installations, sculptures, murals and other creative interventions are concentrated around the Clock Tower and the Silo District, home to the Zeitz MOCAA which can also be visited if you wish (entry fee to own account).
