Arrival at the National Research Foundation (NRF) and the South African Astronomical Observatory (SAAO).

The 2-hour tour begins with a warm welcome and introduction at the Observatory’s Main Library, setting the stage for an engaging exploration of South Africa’s rich astronomical heritage and ongoing research. Guests are then guided through the historic Main Building, a landmark that has been at the heart of astronomical discovery in the country for over a century. Delegates will have the opportunity to explore the McClean Telescope, a highlight of the tour. Weather permitting, the experience culminates with an unforgettable stargazing session using both the McClean and Dobsonian telescopes.
