Woodstock Street Art Walking Tour

Travel to Woodstock for a guided walking street art experience led by local artists and cultural practitioners, many of whom were directly involved in creating the area’s iconic murals. This is far more than an art walk. Through powerful storytelling, guests explore how street art emerged in response to apartheid spatial planning, forced removals, inequality, and later gentrification. Murals are revealed as acts of resistance, remembrance, and reclaiming space. Along the way, discover both landmark and hidden works while gaining insight into collaboration, political commentary, identity, and the role of community-led art in preserving memory amid rapid urban change.

During the tour you will also be introduced to local and international artists who have helped shape Woodstock into one of Africa's most exciting art destinations. You may also be given the opportunity to contribute to work in progress with the artist's guidance.

Cape Town Society for the Blind

The journey continues to the Cape Town Society for the Blind for a powerful sensory art experience. Here you will put your own artistic flair into practice as you create your very own painting without relying on sight! Through touch, sound, movement and imagination, participants are encouraged to experience art from a completely different perspective. This special encounter creates space for conversation about disability, creativity, independence and the many different ways people experience the world.

Local home visit

The experience in Woodstock concludes with a warm visit to a local home, where you will meet members of the community and enjoy a selection of traditional local dishes. Over the meal you will gain a deeper understanding of everyday life, family traditions and Cape Town's diverse cultural heritage.

Long March to Freedom outdoor exhibition

After lunch, the day winds down with a visit to The Long March to Freedom, an extraordinary open-air exhibition of over 100 life-sized bronze statues honouring the individuals who shaped South Africa’s journey to democracy.

Return to your hotel in the early evening.
